DSARClock — Public Help
What this tool does
DSARClock gives an estimated timeline for handling a data subject access request (DSAR) based on the information you enter.
It is designed to help teams make a quick operational check. It does not replace a legal review.
Objective
Use DSARClock to:
- estimate a response deadline or timing window
- see how selected factors affect the estimate
- identify cases that may need manual review
What you need to enter
Enter the information requested by the calculator. Depending on the version surfaced by engineering, this may include:
- the date the request was received
- key handling dates, if any
- request conditions or flags shown in the form
- any options needed to calculate the estimate
Only enter information you are comfortable processing in the browser. Avoid adding unnecessary personal data.
What you get back
The tool returns an estimate that may include:
- a calculated date or time window
- a simple status indication
- notes or caveats tied to the options selected
How to use it
- Open DSARClock.
- Fill in the required fields.
- Review the estimate shown by the tool.
- Check the caveats before relying on the result.
- If the case is unusual, pause and escalate internally.
Important caveats
- The result is an estimate, not a legal determination.
- The output depends on the accuracy and completeness of the information entered.
- The tool may not reflect every jurisdiction-specific rule, exception, or factual nuance.
- Complex, high-risk, or disputed cases should be reviewed by a qualified legal or privacy professional.
When to escalate
Escalate to counsel, your DPO, or your privacy lead if:
- the request is cross-border or multi-jurisdictional
- the identity of the requester is unclear or disputed
- exemptions, restrictions, or third-party rights may apply
- there is a complaint, regulator contact, or litigation risk
- the result does not match your internal policy or case facts
Operational next steps
After using the tool:
- save the estimate in your internal case record if appropriate
- confirm the factual timeline
- apply your internal review and approval process
- assign follow-up actions before any deadline expires
